Exam 4 Part 1

Propaganda is when rumors are spread widely to help or harm a person, group, or movement. This painting does not show anything about a war or how things are in certain places. It doesn't show me that its trying to lie about something. Like when the Russians posters would show that the Germans were bad people.
In the painting it shows that people are different in many ways, and that no one is the same.
The bombing was because of Hitler and that he wanted to make a statement. This is important because it shows that people will do what they want to get what they want no matter what.

Battle of Stalingrad
----Shows that he is fearful and harsh, because he would shoot someone if they got scared and ran away.
2) Explain why Hitler would react in the way shown after signing a Non-Aggression Pact with Stalin?
---- He wanted Stalin's country. He also acted as a friend to Stalin so Stalin and his people would not suspest anything.
3) Explain the significance of propaganda in this battle, using examples from the posters.
---- They were making the soldiers think that Germans were beasts and got them to want to kill the Germans even more. Like how they say "Kill the German Beast".
4) What do the extremes of the war reveal about what it takes to win a total war?
---- The would kill soldiers one by one and would aim at certain people before they would shoot. After killing soldier they would take their supplies and they would win the war.
5) How does the story of Vasily Zaitsev relate to the war in Iraq?
---- The weapons they use over and over again because the weapon would kill more people. Snipers were used mostly in the war. In Iraq our weapons havent been killing as many people as Iraq's weapons. Seems like everyday we have more deaths then them.
6) In times of crisis, sometimes heroic figures emerge. Which figure emerged in a similar way to Vasily after the terrorist attacks of 9/11?
---- This is alot like the attacks of 9/11 because after we were attacked we want to go and seek revenge, but now we are still over in Iraq fighting, and what good has that cost us other then a lot of dead soldiers.
12) Does the Soviet reaction to victory seem reasonable to you? (Be specific)

Exam 2
The paragraph above is telling you how the Colombian Exchange(of which was when chocolate, potatoes, and other goods were traded. Also millions of people died of diseases) had changed the world in a really big way, and had established the Triangle Trade. The Triangle Trade was between Europe, Africa, and our own country America. They have been trading weapons and alcoholic beverages. They also traded finished goods between Europe and Africa, and slaves were sent to America for raw goods. The time period of this has been considered intense social impact, for the slaves that are traded during the Triangle Trade. It impacted the slaves during transporting them. The slaves hardly ever got food, and were sometimes thrown overboard alive. The understanding of this time period can only be valued by the economic and social contributes of accomplishment impact those countries in history.

Child Slavery In Africa Essay
While this poor kid is working his butt off us americans are to busy eating the chocolate that this kid put his hard work and effort into. What we dont realize is that young children put hours into making chocolate not because they want too, but because they have too. There is about 15,000 children that are put to work with making chocolate. That sweet and comforting chocolate, all put together by innocent children. In Cote d'Ivoire is the largest exporter of the cocoa industry and provides about 43% of the world's supply of chocolate.
The top brands that is made from this Child-Making proccess are M&M's and Hershey's. It's mainly known as young teenaged boys between the years 12-16 in age are those that have been sold as slaves to make the cocoa products that we love so much.
The slave owners, or agents of fake jobs, lie to parents of innocent children. Telling the parents that the children are going to be educated, have a paying job, and housing. Instead of actually doing what they told the parents the slave owners transport the children to cocoa farms where they are forced to work and produce the chocolate, and are also abused severely. There is a total of 60,000 cocoa farms in the Africa area. All of which account for the 1/3 amount of the nation's economy.
These children are forced to work over 80-100 hours of work a week. They don't get paid one single penny! They are also barely ever fed. When they work those 80-100 hours a week it's mostly on an empty stomache. Who are these people that would do such a crazy thing to young children? The people of Cote d'Ivoire.
Even though owning other people as "slaves" is illegal many people still do it. Some call the slaveholders, but either way the children are still brutally abused and tortured by all means.
***Would have been longer but wasnt sure what else to put in it.

Essay 1

The picture to the right looks like it was took after the French had won the war. I get this impression because of the guy thats standing up and holding out his gun. With another person holding up the flag. It makes me think of a Victory picture.
